A little about me

In case we haven’t met yet, or you need a quick reminder, I’m Yusra Ali, a web and graphic designer based in Toledo, Ohio.
I graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BFA in Graphic Design, where I learned that design is part creativity, part problem-solving, and sometimes moving something two pixels until it finally feels right.
At Madhouse Studio, I work across digital and print, designing and building websites, creating visual systems, and organizing complex information so people can actually find what they need. I enjoy projects with lots of moving parts, where good design means not only making things look polished, but making the entire experience feel easier. Basically, I like taking all the messy pieces and making them make sense.
My approach to design is pretty simple: make it look good, make it easy to understand, and make sure every choice has a reason. I pay close attention to spacing, typography, color, and hierarchy because those decisions are often what make a design feel just right.
When I’m not working on design projects, which honestly isn’t very often, I’m usually painting, taking photos, reading, spending time with my pets, or getting distracted by any cute animal nearby.
A lot of my inspiration comes from everyday things, like an unexpected color combination, the way light changes a space, an interesting texture, or a quiet moment that makes me stop and look twice.
